FAQs

Where do we meet?

We can meet via zoom or in my Preston studio (COVID willing). Alternatively we can meet in your local environment and go for a walk together. This will include a small travel fee.

How should I prepare for a session?

Just bring yourself however you happen to be on the day we meet. Bring a sense of openness and curiosity with a willingness to witness your own experience.

What should i wear?

Wear loose clothing that is comfortable and allows you to move freely.

What should i bring?

Bring a notebook and something to write with so that you can keep a journal of your experience. You can record key words, doodles, poetic phrases or reflections. This is a journal of your experience written by you for you.

What if I have an injury, can’t move or am in a wheelchair?

We can work together to find ways for you to move safely according to your physical circumstances.

What if I suffer from anxiety and/or trauma?

This work is not therapy and should not replace any mental health plan or trauma therapy you may have in place. The practices however are therapeutic and the work can complement other mental health treatments. I take a trauma-informed approach to the practice and will always ensure that together we support you to take self-care during a session.

What if i’m shy?

If you’re shy you might prefer to begin working with me on zoom (lockdowns impose this anyway at the moment). People have found that working in their own homes really helps them to feel safe and connect with the work in their own way.

What if I am scared to move & sound?

Ours sessions do not not require any special skill or any ability to move, sound or sing. We simply explore how you want to move and any sounds you want to make as a way of creating a feeling of embodied presence. I will hold a space that welcomes whatever movement and sounds emerge and will always encourage you to stay within your zone of comfort.
