Embodied Practice
You are embodied and the body-based practices we explore together simply remind you of that reality. The focus is on synchronising movement and thought while consciously paying attention to your inner and outer environments. Together we playfully grow your capacity to tune to your senses so that you can sustain and care for yourself more fully.

embodied Voice specialist
Through humming, toning, sounding and playful vocal practices you will grow your capacity to utilise the full range of your voice with confidence and sensitivity. Vocal toning can heighten awareness of your own inner state and energy – through that awareness you’ll feel more connected to yourself and everything around you. It’s easy to be critical of your own voice - toning can grow vocal resonance so that you actually begin to like the sound of your own voice. This work can also help you focus, relax, release negative emotions, reduce stress, and improve your concentration and sleep.
an embodied approach to voice
Working with me, as an individual or in small group sessions, will support you to grow a versatile and resonant voice that uses the whole of you to produce sound. Book a session today.

“There is a subtle movement underlying all else. It is what moves when you are still and what you hear when there is silence. The best word I have found to describe it is vibration.” Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen
Arts-based educator
I have been an arts-based educator and adult learning specialist in a range of contexts for 30 years. Education is about being curious and is most effective in social settings. It has a key role to play in re-patterning our behaviours and requires a relational approach that fosters ongoing self-reflexivity.
Using arts-based methodologies, I work with individuals and communities who are committed to behavioural change, expansion of mindsets and growth of sustainable living. I advocate for processes of learning and unlearning in social and professional contexts to reduce the impacts of bias and systemic failures within Australian institutions, industry, and culture.
Academic coaching & mentoring
Professional Development workshops
I was employed for 15 years (2005 - 2020) in the Higher Education sector as an academic developer. A key aspect of this role was to mentor academic staff. This involved working with Program Managers on their leadership skills and developing needs-based teacher professional development and curriculum innovations for their program teams. I also worked with individuals and small groups of staff on the process of academic writing and publishing about education.
I am available to work in tertiary education settings for curriculum development & renewal work, educational change facilitation, educational research projects, academic writing workshops and 1:1 mentoring of academic staff. If you would like to engage my services for any of these activities, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the link below.
Testimonials
Dr Michael Graeve, Program Manager MFA,
School of Art, RMIT University
True mentorship requires a dynamic negotiation of responsibility, and Angela has provided me with practical support where needed, the knowledge frameworks and challenges to stretch my facility and skill whenever possible, and the space to truly integrate my learning into a cognisance of my teaching practice. Angela doesn't predict outcomes or answers, but allows for an informed discussion on possible implications of different decisions, where she has drawn on her deep experience of a wide variety of pedagogical models and frameworks of interaction, including case studies and evidence-based reviews. Angela has mentored me and other staff towards a culture where we can confidently articulate our pedagogies and better understand the continuum of educational practice within the complex overlaps of student experience and departmental cultures as well as the conflicts between policy and practicality.Make it shine.
Dr Fleur Summers, Senior Lecturer,

It was your support that gave me the confidence to write and present ideas about teaching and my own research…you brought an analytical approach to my teaching which helped me to describe, evaluate and present ideas about successful teaching.
Associate Professor, Dominic Redfern

I had valued myself as a teacher in terms of my capacity to carry a group and maintain their attention whilst working in essentially a transmission mode of education. Angela challenged me to release the reins a little. The pay off in terms of comprehension and ownership amongst my students was marked. Angela here was teaching at a very high level: she was watching someone with 15 years experience of solid Course Experience Survey scores and finding the means to change entrenched habits and assumptions and allowing me to see the challenge of teaching anew. This is very nuanced work…and was communicated in such a way as to enable change.Make it yours.
